Problem Note 30542: OLAP Analyzer providers in SAS® Enterprise Guide® are missing from display
A missing registry key in a third-party vendor's OLE DB for OLAP (ODBO) provider could cause the provider list in SAS Enterprise Guide to be empty.
This is because SAS Enterprise Guide utilizes the OLE DB root enumerator when listing which providers are available. A provider which does not follow the ODBO specification can cause this process to fail and return an empty list.
In the reported case, the missing key was the VersionIndependentProgID. It might be possible to solve the problem by adding the correct combination of key and value to the registry entry through your operating system's registry editor. If you encounter this problem, you should alert the third-party vendor to the error in their provider design and reference the ODBO specification found on Microsoft's Developer Network site.
